Who is the AztecQueen
AztecQueen2000 has been everywhere, seen nearly everything, and always has something to say. The product of a crazy, upbringing with restless spirit parents, I've lived in seven major metropolitan areas in six states, attended eight brick and mortar schools in four states before dropping out to DIY it and finish high school early with a diploma from a state I've never been to. I then went off to college and graduate school, finishing my BA at 19 and studying for my Master's just to stay put until I could handle the real world. At 21, I launched myself on the world, and I've been on my own ever since. I found Judaism when I was 18--when I started going to shul so I could get into a Mormon law school. A long relationship with a Messianic Jew led me to Orthodoxy, and FIT led me to NYC. A chance encounter at Rebbetzin Jungreis's shiur led me to Brooklyn and my marriage to Builder. We now have two girls, Thing 1, born 11/2006, and Thing 2, born 9/2008. The names are taken, of course, from the collective works of my favorite doctor. Living in Brooklyn is the best and the worst place to be Orthodox. The best because of the community and the resulting infrastructure, and the worst because of the emphasis on conformity. And, sorry, I just can't drink the Kool-Aid.
